Carbocation Stability Order

Carbocation ek carbon hai jispar positive charge hota hai. Jitne zyada alkyl groups isse jude, utna zyada stable, isliye order hai primary < secondary < tertiary.

Carbocation ke ek carbon par electrons ki kami hoti hai. Alkyl groups jaise CH₃ inductive effect se us carbon ki taraf electron density push karte hain, positive charge ko faila kar shaant kar dete hain.

Jitne zyada alkyl groups, utna zyada ye electron push. Tertiary carbocation (teen alkyl groups) sabse stable hai, aur primary (ek alkyl group) sabse kam. Jab charge resonance se fail sakta hai, jaise benzyl ya allyl cation me, to aur bhi zyada stable ho jaata hai.

Ye ek ranking chupke se bahut si reactions decide karti hai: dehydration me kaunsa product banega, kaunsa halide SN1 se react karega, aur rearrangements kyun hote hain. Ek kam stable carbocation to ek hydrogen ya methyl group ko bhi shift kar deta hai taaki zyada stable ho jaaye.
